The participating members of the Intergovernmental Fintech Working Group (IFWG) are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and acknowledge that the completion of this enquiry form may include personal information belonging to you, other persons or to your company. For the purpose of this disclaimer “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013) (“POPI Act”).
Under the POPI Act and related laws, we have a legal duty to take all reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from you. We will only use your information in accordance with this privacy disclaimer.
We will use the information collected, as applicable, to:
- evaluate whether you meet the criteria to receive the informal, non-binding steer from the Regulatory Guidance Unit; and
- for any purpose if we are required to do so by any law or other regulatory or government authority
By providing us with your personal information, you consent to us processing your information as set out in this privacy disclaimer and in any other manner you expressly consent to in accordance with the POPI Act.
Who we may share your personal information with:
Representatives of Participating Regulators: They will have access to your personal information in order to perform the functions of the Regulatory Guidance Unit but they cannot use it or disclose it for any other purpose, unless you have specifically given them consent to do so.
Aggregate Information: We may share aggregate, non-personally identifiable information, such as demographics and statistics on types of services or products with relevant regulators.
Maintenance and storage of information: Your collected information will be stored on servers which are maintained by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) on behalf of the IFWG. We may keep your information for a reasonable period for the purposes set out in this privacy policy.
Security: While every effort will be made to adopt appropriate security procedures to help prevent unauthorised access to your information, neither the SARB nor the other participating members of the IFWG will be liable for any attempt to hack or otherwise gain access to any of your information.
